Refund & Cancellation Policy

EbookState · ebookstate.com Last updated: October 15, 2026

EbookState (“EbookState”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a brand operated by TOBODIGI LLC, a Maryland (USA) limited liability company with its mailing address at 7570 South Arbory Ln, Laurel, MD 20707, USA. This policy explains cancellations, refunds and exactly what our satisfaction and money-back guarantee covers for our ebook writing, editing, design, formatting, publishing support and author marketing services. All of our services are digital. We do not ship physical goods. If you order printed copies through a retailer’s print-on-demand service (such as Amazon KDP), that retailer prints and ships them under its own policies.

1. Packages and payment

Author packages are priced in US dollars: Starter Author Package US$199.00, Intermediate Author Package US$430.00 and Premium Author Package US$980.00. Ghostwriting, audiobook production, author websites and other custom work are quoted separately. Before you pay, your written proposal confirms the package or scope, total price, payment schedule (upfront or agreed milestones), timeline, revision process and any third-party costs.

Payments are processed by Stripe or PayPal and, where agreed, Payoneer. Prices are in US dollars. If your card or account is in another currency, your bank or payment provider may apply its own exchange rate or international transaction fee, which we do not control.

3. Our Satisfaction & Money-Back Guarantee: what it means

Our guarantee applies to the package or project fee you paid to EbookState. It does not cover third-party costs. You are entitled to a 100% refund of the package fee in any of these situations:

3.1 Cancellation before work starts

You cancel before your project manager starts work on your project, meaning before we deliver your first outline, edit, sample or concept.

3.2 Not satisfied at the first milestone

Your first milestone is the first substantial deliverable in your proposal. That is usually the crafted or refined outline, the first edited sample chapter or the first cover concept. If you are not satisfied with it:

  1. Tell us within 7 days of receiving it and give us the chance to deliver one revision based on your feedback; and
  2. If you are still not satisfied, request cancellation within 7 days of receiving the revision.

We will refund 100% of the package fee, provided you do not use, publish or submit the work we prepared. This option ends once you approve the first milestone or ask us to move on to the next stage.

3.3 Missed deadlines

We miss an agreed milestone date in your proposal by more than 10 business days for reasons within our control. This does not apply when we are waiting for your manuscript, feedback, approvals or account access. In that case we refund the fee for all work not yet delivered, or 100% if nothing has been delivered.

3.4 Failure to deliver the package

We fail to deliver a deliverable listed in your proposal, such as edited and formatted files or submission to an included platform, and do not fix this within 15 business days of your written notice. We refund the value of the undelivered deliverables, up to 100%. If a retailer rejects a submission for a reason we can fix (for example a formatting or file requirement), we fix and resubmit at no extra cost.

What “Satisfaction Guaranteed” means

We will keep working on each deliverable within the revision rounds in your proposal until it matches the agreed scope and brief. If we cannot meet the agreed scope, the remedies above apply.

What “100% Ownership” and “100% Royalties” mean

You keep ownership of your manuscript and final book files, subject to the licences of any third-party assets such as fonts or stock images. EbookState takes no share of your royalties. Retailer, distributor and printing deductions still apply. These statements are not a promise that your book will sell or earn any particular amount.

4. Cancelling after your first milestone is approved

You may cancel at any time by emailing info@ebookstate.com. After the first milestone is approved, we refund the unused part of your fee. If your proposal sets out milestone values, those values apply. Otherwise we use this default schedule:

Stage reached when you cancel Refund of the package fee
First milestone approved (outline or first sample) 75%
Editing and proofreading completed 50%
Formatting and (where included) cover design completed 25%
Final files approved or book submitted/published No change-of-mind refund

Premium social media marketing: if you cancel during the 2-month marketing period, we refund the marketing portion for any full month that has not started. Advertising spend paid to platforms is not refundable by us.

5. What the guarantee does not cover

6. How to request a refund

  1. Email info@ebookstate.com (or call +1 928 436 4863) with your name, invoice or order number and the reason for your request.
  2. We acknowledge within 2 business days and give a written decision within 5 business days.
  3. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe or PayPal (or, where agreed, Payoneer), whichever you used. They are usually sent within 5 business days of approval. Your bank may take a further 5–10 business days to show the refund.
  4. Refunds are made in US dollars for the amount we received. We are not responsible for exchange-rate differences or fees charged by your bank.

7. Payment disputes and chargebacks

Please contact us first so we can resolve the issue quickly. This does not limit your right to dispute a charge with your card issuer or payment provider. If a dispute is opened, we will share our records of the agreed scope, communications and deliverables with the payment provider.
